A Gift of Quilts

This morning we set off to London to Olympia to see the 500 quilts that have been made for each of the countries particpating in the 2012 Olympic games. This also includes the Paraylmpic Teams too.

I have had a lovely Mothers Day as we went as a family  It was DS suggestion we go as he wanted photos of me and Abi with the quilt I made . It was history in the making as I know for sure I won't be around to see another Olympic Games here in the UK but hopefully Abigail will and she will have her own little bit of proof that she was at something OLYMPIC in 2012.

We also got the oppurtunity to find out what team was getting my quilt called STARS UNITED and it's the Paralympic team of Mozambique .

My Pumpkin Patcher's and Shipton Quilters who I am a member of also made quilts  and the Pumpkin Patchers Quilt  called UNION STARS  is going to the Bahamas and the SHIPTON ALL STARS quilt to Mauritania.

It adds another interest for me now to see these teams in the opening cermony and watch how they perform throughout the games.

STARS UNITED AND ABIGAIL'S FIRST QUILT SHOW.
She dosen't look very happy about it.

SHIPTON ALL STARS MADE BY SHIPTON QUILTERS
UNITED STARS MADE BY THE PUMPKIN PATCHERS - TEAM MEMBERS, MAUREEN, JOAN, CAROL, JACKI, SHEILA AND MYSELF AND QUILTED BY ROSEMARY ARCHER OF FROME VALLEY QUILTING.

All types of Everything

Have received my copy of Civil War Quilts and it is full of wonderful quilts and project's and am really glad I bought it.

Seem to be back on my Prickly Stars again and have another 3 to add to the pile.

My mojo is slowly coming back and am enjoying going through my fabrics even if it's just stroking them and imagining what I could be doing with them LOL. Spring is really on it's way here now and have started booking a few trips and days out. The first one is this weekend to London to the Stitch and Craft at Olympia, London. The main reason for going is that the 500 Olympic Games quilts will be hanging for all to see before they go of to the recipient's of each country . will post photos of these next week.
I couldn't go without given you a little sneak peak of how Abigail is doing. 7 weeks old already and given us all the run around.
