Border or Not

I have been pretty fed up this weekend, the specific parasite that I picked up in India is back with me. I was at the hospital yesterday morning where they ran some test and it seems it has been laying dormant since my last round of antibiotics.
Yesterday I just shivered and had a high temperature so I just lay on the sofa with movie's and my glorious fire on.
Today I'm feeling a bit better as the antibiotic seems to get to work pretty quickly and have just been doing some hand sewing on my Texas star blocks.

I got my Jane's Garden together earlier in the week but now here's the question? border or no border. Di hadn't finished her quilt when we did the workshop in Nantes. As it is now is how Di gave it to us drawn up.
The border fabric is the same as around the appliqué centre. Luckily I had some of that one in my stash.

Slowly, slowly my Texas star is coming on.

So it's back to my fire and resting, but before I go I forgot to tell you that it was a big birthday for partner in crime a few days after mine. I thought it needed a present to remember and saw this lovely folk art painting. I really loved it especially as the girl is holding a pumpkin. Sue always helped me on my stand at the quilt shows when I had my shop The Pumpkin Patch  so she seemed appropriate for my special friends Big Birthday.  http://audreyeclectic.blogspot.co.uk/.

Just looked after I published and find the original photo from Audrey's site is not coming up on my blog, but do go and have a read of her blog and look at her Etsy site.
Till next time.

  3. I'm no help at all, it would look great either way. Probably lean slightly towards adding the border. Hope you're feeling better soon.

  4. Shoot, what a bummer the bug is hanging out waiting to make you sick again. Did you change antibiotics this time?
I think this quilt would look good with a border but maybe a little pink or red before the tan?

  6. Sorry to hear you've not been well again - hope the antibiotics do the job for good. I just love your Jane's Garden - great colour. I like it without a border but the border would be lovely too, or maybe a dark pink/red binding...
    Get better soon.

  8. sorry you are not feeling well - hope the new meds will kick it out for you! What a lovely stove, very cozy and warming.
I like lori's idea of a little border before the tan, or do you have enough to make the tan a little bigger?

  10. A border would be nice, the tan could work, maybe the same size as the sashing around your center block and then finish with the dark red as another border or the binding (or both). If no border, definitely the dark red as a binding. Love your Texas stars! Hope you are feeling better and get red of that bug soon!

  11. This is a beautiful quilt, Sue. I agree with the ladies who suggest a little border before the wider tan one. No matter what you do, it will be an outstanding quilt.
Nice progress on your Texas stars.
Feet up, enjoy the warmth of the fire, keep taking those antibiotics, and get well !

  12. What a lovely quilt, Sue. I would say a border is a must, to frame the rest of the quilt.
I hope you are well soon :-)

  15. Sorry to hear that bug is still hanging around. Hope the antibiotics are working and you are feeling better. Having seem Di's quilt on Facebook go with the border but it looks great without it too. Lovely stitching going on there Sue in spite of feeling unwell. Xx
