Not only was it my birthday last week but my little munchkin's  too. Yeah remember this little one who now has new words spilling out of her mouth daily .She is beginning to crack me up with her little sayings and observations. Got to be careful now grandma with what I say.
Two years old now, can you believe it.

Birthday Treat Part Two

Ok ,ok I'm going to put you out of your misery.

This one spoke to me and she as I'm loving calling her has been well loved, washed and used over the years but that turkey red is still as bright as the day it's was stitched.
She is early Victorian and bought her as I knew she would look great on my own bed.

This is the shop.

Through the windows

My Partner in Crime.

After all this excitement I finished of my day with Sue buying me lunch and one of these.

Seem's  I've gone off on a Red and Pink theme with my quilt and choice of dessert!
I still have some more lovely quilt photos to share so your just have to keep popping back.

Birthday Treat

Today was my birthday and its my Partner in Crimes on Friday so we arranged a little birthday treat for ourselves. Naughty girls.
We have talked for so long about going to The Antique Textile Company http://www.antiquetextilescompany.co.uk/ in London and today was the day!
It was like walking into an Aladdin's cave, such a tiny shop but packed to the gunnels with beautiful quilts. Christopher the owner was so generous with his time and put up with us oohing and aahing
over very early English quilts that he pulled out.

I know, I know you just want to see some eye candy. Then you want to know if I bought anything. Yes I did!!!! It's my birthday !
Here goes.

Look at the fabrics in these quilts. The shop is small so hard to really hold the quilts up to see the whole thing.

Going to leave it here for today so come back soon.

More Jane's Garden

The last week has seen me down with another cold which once again seems to have gone to my chest. What is it with me, when my dear departed was in the nursing home I used to go for my every other day visits when all sorts of cough, colds and viruses were rife and not catch a thing !!! but now I just seem to catch every cold that is passing by.

So I stayed in the warm and although feeling groggy sat with the fire alight and good  DVD's and made progress with Jane's Garden. I'm now ready to continue making the surrounding blocks and feel this part of the quilt will go more quickly than my appliqué which I do struggle with.

You may remember that I talked about one of my quilts going into an Exhibition this year. Just before Christmas the museum curator contacted me to ask if I would mind if they used my quilt for the publicity for the exhibition. Would I mind!!!! Of course I'm  absolutely over the moon, who wouldn't be?

It's being curated by Tracey Chevalier author of The Girl With The Pearl Earring and who's latest book The Last Runaway has been read by many of you as its about a quilter.

Here is the link to the Exhibition which is called What Goes On Behind The Bedroom Door and is being held at Danson House http://www.bexleyheritagetrust.org.uk/dansonhouse/

I'm looking forward to seeing how they put this exhibition together when the quilters are so diverse.
