The New Year Ahead

  The festive season is almost over and as we all think about the past year it's time to think about the coming one and with that in mind I want to tell you about an exciting new project that is happening at Cowslip Workshops.

I've just had a happy time with Jo whilst the shop and cafe has been closed over the the holiday season where she was preparing for Di Fords block of the month.You can see the centre of it here.

Here are some of the lovely fabrics for the Di Ford block of the month. If any of you want to sign up for this project you had better hop over to Cowslip Workshops to sign up. 

As it was closed over the Christmas period I took the opportunity to take some photos of the shop and cafe. 

Lovely flannels and wool. 

You will never see  the cafe this quiet again. It opens again from the 3rd of January with lots of yummy food and cakes. 

Jo's beautiful Christmas quilts are still adorning the walls. It's looks so welcoming.

Happy Easter

I had a fun few days down in Cornwall with Jo a couple of weeks ago http://www.cowslipworkshops.co.uk/. and made this gorgeous girl for my gorgeous girl.

I actualy made her using one of DH's old shirts so she has something of the grandpa she will never know but is looking after her from above. 

 

Here's  hoping the Easter Bunny in your part of the world brings you something nice to nibble at and I'm not thinking lettuce!!!!!!!

Hunters Star Workshop

After this past week it is so nice to see new life hop, skipping and jumping around in the field next to my cottage and really nice to see my gorgeous tulips blooming in my courtyard garden.

As I haven't had time for sewing of late I will posting the pictures of the workshop I taught at Cowslip at the beginning of the month.
It is the Hunters Star and you can see what a terrific job everyone has made of them. I hope when I go back in September I will see some completed quilts.
I can't really remember precisely who's is who's here so if I get it wrong apologies .
I also wanted to show Jo's Organic Cafe at Cowslip. It was mothering Sunday and she had a full house. Well wouldn't you want to come and have lunch here surrounded by beautiful countryside good food and QUILTS!.

Fun With Mandy

I have had another lovely weekend away at
Cowslip Workshops I left home at 6.30 Saturday morning to drive to Cornwall for some Christmas Fun, it was a Christmassy workshop with Mandy Shaw of Dandelion Designs. What a great weekend it was , I have still some finishing off to do on my doll angel- Wings and Hallo to make - Notice her dress, I used my lovely tea dyed TOILE on her. Why because she was so worth it.
Mandy has a book out called Quilt Yourself Gorgeous published by David and Charles.It is packed full of lovely things to make and another book out next April.

She was very excited over the weekend as she had Channel 4 television at her home this past week. Its another Kirsti Alsop and Phil Spencer programme all about making Christmas gifts which will be screened in December.

Thanks Mandy for a fun weekend and sharing tears together, why tears you ask? we got talking about DH and turns out Mandy lost her mum to Dementia last year so we had a good cry together. Crying together and laughing together is always a great bond.

I also have to THANK Jo at Cowlsip who puts up with me and Mery for the weekend. I would love to know what she is on as she is full of boundless energy and enthusiasm.

I never seem to get a photo of Jo but if you read Mandy's blog you will see her pictured as she was featured in the October issue of Country Living Magazine.
