Remember the Infinite Variety of Red and White in NYC. How could those of us that were there ever forget. What a marvellous exhibition it was! So many fond memories of that trip and meeting up with fellow blogger's from around the world.
I missed my chance to buy one of the exhibition bags as the on site shop sold out within the first few hours. I seem to remember you could order one but they wouldn't post overseas. So I gave up ever owning one of these iconic bags .
Well not until TARYN posted up a give away and I WON the bag.
How thrilled am I. Thanks Taryn. I hope we get to meet up someday. We missed in NYC and missed in Houston 3RD time lucky as they say.
I'm at last posting my Christmas gifts from PIC . Red fabric! and the Quiltmania diary. As always she knows what I like. Thanks PIC.
Nursery curtains are now made and we are now on count down. Baby is due on the 23rd. She looks like she's about to explode and her poor legs and feet are completely swollen .I remember that feeling oh so well even after 36 years.
Hopefully will be posting news of the new arrival sooooooon!

Treasures In The Trunk Part 2

.jpg)
Elizabeth Hake QuiltI am just posting the pictures of the other couple of silk quilts and cushions relating to patchwork from the trunk.
I wasn't sure what to do and who to contact regarding finding out value's and who might be interested in seeing these items so contacted the Quilters Guild, and as their was such a lot of lace in the trunk The Lace Guild . Guess who came back to me- know one.
So I then contacted the V&A and Sue Prichard immediately got back to me and agreed to come down from London to have a look and give some advice.
It was when Sue was going though things that she mentioned about putting on a Quilt Exhibition that was back in the summer of 2005. It took a while to come to fruition but didn't she pull it off.
She took away with her for the V&A archives the copper plates and glass photographic plates that were used for the Book English Quilting Old and New.
My Partner in crime Suemluvs quilts no blog decided to draft one side of one of the cushions and made this delightful little pattern and called it Elizabeth Hake Quilt.
So today this will be a little giveaway and if anyone that doesn't win it really wants one, the pattern is for sale. so contact me off line and we will try to get something organised.
I will pull the winner on Friday the 13th- Now this might be unlucky for some but can assure you their will be one lucky person.

V&A Commemorative Panel -GIVE AWAY
Today I am giving away this lovely V&A Commemorative panel . I think it has to be for an overseas guest as it can be obtained quite easily here in the UK at the V&A or online.
It is commemorating the greatest exhibition of old quilts that we have ever seen in England. It is screen printed and would look great in the centre of a quilt or you might just like to keep it as a memento of this great occasion. The quilts will be on display until 4th July 2010. So start saving your air fare and come and see this marvelous exhibition.
Please leave your comments and I will pick a name on 31st March pm.
Good Luck
Sue
