Well It arrived the quilt I bid for and won on from the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative I am thrilled with it so its a very big Thank You to Lori at Humble Quilts who made this little beauty. Not only is the front great but the back has a personalised label made by Sue Spargo.

What a great thing Ami Simms has done by starting this great way of raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research, since January 2006 she has raised $379.000.
Thanks to all concerned.

Bill's Qult

A home day today and I finished Bills quilt. Bill an elderly gentleman who's wife is in the same nursing home as my husband asked me if I could make a quilt. He says when his wife went into the nursing home he got rid of their double bed and he bought himself a single one. I am sure he feels that he needs a bit of comfort from a quilt. I hope he likes it as he left it entirely up to me. I should add that he paints wonderful oil paintings and presented me with one last year. It is a beautiful picture of my garden which he had painted from a photograph. It is truly a marvelous picture and captured the herbaceous borders beautifully.
Don't you just love Mery, Why does she do that to every quilt I lay down. She surely thinks its another one for her to cosy up onto. Its now ready to go off to be quilted at. Frome Valley Quilting.
I also did a quick 15 minutes in the garden, It was so cold I didn't last long out there but look what I spotted the first snowdrops have popped up. Give it another couple of weeks and I will have hundreds of them all round the garden along with lots of Hellebore's. Spring is on the way now their's a nice thought.

My Birthday

Well I have had a couple of busy days- Meet my friend Linda in London. After a glass of Champagne at the hotel we took ourselves off to Foxtrot Oscar One of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants. Fantastic food and great service even though the cocktails were almost as much as one of the dinners, We didn't care it was going to be my Birthday the next day.Not quite ready to push up daises us old girls still love to have fun.
Today we went to the Colefax & Fowler trade sale. Linda did her bit to bump start the UK economy. I was rather restrained and bought fabric to make a roman blind and also a curtain to cover the front door to stop the wind hurtling through.

I returned this evening to be taken out for dinner at ZIZZI by my son and heir along with his lovely girlfriend Emily. A nice relaxed evening with them both and flowers and pressie's to boot.

Tired, Tired , Tired now.
Till next time.
