More Red and White

Posted by Picasa

I can't tell you anything about these two quilts except I took the photos at the Minerva Arts Centre back in 2005.
The Minerva Arts centre is where The Quilt Association of Wales have their headquarters and each summer they put on a small exhibition of beautiful quilts.
From home It's about a 3 hour drive on small country roads but you do pass through glorious countryside that takes your breath away.

This years summer exhibition has not been posted yet but you can bet your life it will be on my agenda.

  1. Gosh Sue, I have just posted a quilt like your first picture and it wasn't at Minerva as it belongs to a friend. Ron Simpson has one too but with blue in and Quilt History Studies has posted another! So that's four of the same star pattern!

  3. Sue, these quilts are really outstanding! I am inspired by the single Irish chain one with the big hourglass border. I sense a new project brewing. Keep us posted on this summer's event. It sounds marvelous.

  6. Wow! Your quilt is rather similar to the one I just posted in Taryn's Red and White gallery. Thanks to Taryn's challenge, I decided to post all of my Red & White quilts. Most are doll quilts. I have one red and white crib quilt, however, that is very intriguing. Someone told me they thought it resembled quilts seen in counties Antrim and Down in the North of Ireland. There was a research paper about quilts from these two counties published by the American Quilt Study Group in their 1991 Uncoverings journal. More info on my blog by end of day.
