Progress

160 Klosjes
Civil War block 6 RICHMOND
Posted by Picasa

Some progress has been made with the Klosjes. I love how its coming along but many many more little blocks to make before it becomes a quilt.

The only other thing this week is my Barbara Brackman civil war block 6 called Richmond. This is the second block I made as I didn't like how the other block came out - It was far to heavy looking compared to how my other blocks look so decided this morning to make another .
I now have an orphan block and wonder how many orphan blocks their are out then in the big wide world of quilting. Maybe we set up an on line orphanage and trade blocks.
I have now to post it onto the Flickr group- I just seem to master one thing like blogger changes and then I have to learn how to use Flickr.

Never mind I keep hearing that learning keeps your mind young and active I just wish my body would follow suit.

  1. A block orphanage is a great idea! I've seen a quilt someone made with all their leftover blocks, and it was lovely. My orphans didn't go together very well, and I'd be happy to have someone adopt them.

  4. I love how your spool quilt is coming together! It is going to be fantastic!
Love your CW block. Keep your orphan block- you never know if it might fit in later. Or possibly on the back.

  5. Definitely keep those orphans. If it doesn't fit on the back, I'm sure that some day you can put yours all together for a unique, original "Sue quilt." Every block will be a memory.

The spool quilt is looking good, and I like your 2nd version of the CW block. (I HAVE to get caught up on those today.)

  6. I love your Richmond block Sue! Maybe you could use the first one on the back. I love seeing a little piecing on the back of quilts.

  10. Your little klosjes blocks quilt has some great fabrics...it is going to be a really fun quilt "fabric study." I have a box of orphan blocks that occasionally I pull out and put together for a charity quilt.

  12. The Klosjes quilt is really superb and I can see now why so many of you caught that particular bug. Love the Richmond block - mine is cut out but I haven't sewn it together yet. I agree with you about the new technology and I get annoyed that it takes time away from my stitching but I suppose you are right and it keeps the mind active. Take care!

  13. I love your klosjes blocks! I only have 2 of the CW blocks done - need to get back to that. The orphan block may come in handy sometime. Would like to see all your CW blocks together.

  15. I've got 2 orphans- one 6" and one 8". I'm doing them as 6" blocks, and I keep choosing fabrics that are too dark and heavy as well. I think that means I need some stash enhancement.
