Life Changes

I have had to resort to buying an iPad as I still do not have a landline or acces to Internet which has been a total frustration since I moved on the 5th August.

Life changes very suddenly and a week after moving in my DH went down with a severe chest infection and peacefully passed away on the 28th August after his 12 year long struggle with Alzheimer's.

I will love and miss him for ever but am glad his ordeal is over and his mind is now at rest.

Life will never be the same without him.

Sue

  16. You are right, life does change suddenly. Even though you haven't had the "real" person that your husband used to be for a long time, I'm sure it's still sad to have him gone.

  32. What a strange coincidence that this should happen at the same time as you moved. I am so sorry for all that your husband suffered and all that you both lost over the past years. What a good thing that you had already completed your move before he died - he would be happy that the next phase of your life is already in place. I hope it will be a peaceful and happy home for you.

  33. Sue I'm so sorry to hear about your husband, alzheimers is such a cruel cruel illness and particularly hard for those watching the person deteriorate - I remember chatting to you in your shop 7 or 8 years ago and you saying you'd started it up so you could combine that with caring for him and then I met you again at Wainlode Quilters when you showed us how to make Buggy Barn Stars - I hope you can now take the time to spoil yourself

  39. My heart goes out to you in all ways. My mother is in her 7th year of Alzheimer's, we care for her at home on an island in Alaska. My father passed away August 2011 with vascular dementia. 12 other members of my extended family..aunts and uncles have all had forms of this horrible, horrible disease. The loss of our loved one is compounded by all that they and we, went through with them, as well. I know that the love you shared is with you still and I pray for the good memories to be far stronger than the ones of hardship and loss. Hugs from one who knows.
