I love how Sandy has quilted it, just about the right amount of quilting for my liking. It was started with Di Ford at the quilt show in Nantes last year and my first attempt at needle turn appliqué it's not to brilliant but am happly with the overall effect.
Just needs binding and now the darker evenings are drawing in it will be a nice project to have over my knees.
Now back to the pink and brown quilt. Lots of you left me comments about leaving the mistake in but once you know you KNOW . So now it's been corrected and another quilt top is finished. I know this is only a simple design but I so enjoyed working with these colours and design.
So what's next??? Plenty of UFO'S to be finished and will start digging into those.

I love both quilts! The 9-patch is so simple but so striking!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Both quilts are lovely, the border fabric on the first quilt is perfect and pinks, browns and nine patches, winning combination! I have become an applique convert over the last few years , hope you get to enjoy the process and the results as much as I have.
ReplyDeleteWow, your quilt is beautiful. Love the quilting, really finishes it off perfectly.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly beautiful - I'd be thrilled too! Doesn't the centre look wonderful with the swirly quilting? And not too much quilting all over - as you say - keeps it soft. I love the pink and brown too - can't wait to see that quilted too!
ReplyDeleteWow! Both of these projects are so pretty! Your applique looks beautiful in the center and the border fabric is gorgeous - lovely quilting is the icing on the cake!!

ReplyDeleteThe quilting in the central block of the quilt shows very well. I like the idea of the echo quilting but it leading into the curls.
