Well I here with some favourite's from the Red and White quilt show in New York.
I came home last Tuesday had one day at home then headed down to
Cowslip Workshops to teach for three days.
I was in a barn at Cowslip yesterday and looking at twin calf's that had been born the day before and thought how very strange that one Sunday I was in NYC enjoying the wonderment of red and white quilts then the following I am standing and enjoying the wonderment of new life.
Enjoy the quilts.
Sue
Beautiful quilts, Sue, thank you:))
ReplyDeleteThe richness of life! I'm still enjoying these red and whites - please don't stop sharing! Glad you had a good trip and are home safely.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy! I love your selection of favorites - what incredible hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteI am still dreaming about red and white quilts, I can't stop thinking about the exhibit. Wish I would have spent a few nights in the city as well! coming in just 2 days was not enough !!!! ah yes these are some of my favorites too!
ReplyDeleteI want to put a year on one of my quilts soon!
Kathie
Cowslip sounds wonderful. I love the city but long for the country. That red and white show was such a great thing to experience. With so much inspiration it is hard to select a pattern to reproduce. Yes, like Kathie, I would like to put a big bold year on a quilt (and big bold initials).
ReplyDeleteI really could not pick a favorite, but I do love the ones you chose to highlight.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to come to NYC to see it.
These quilts are truly inspiring and it must have been absolutely awesome to have been there in person to enjoy them all. Take care.
ReplyDeleteMore, More! These are fabulous, Sue. I'm in awe of this exhibit. I should have moved mountains to get myself to NY. So I really appreciate you sharing all these photos. ~ sarah
ReplyDeleteWhat beauties!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of seeing these quilts. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Sue. Would you mind if I link to your blogposts about the red and white quilts on my sidebar?
ReplyDeleteI love them all but I have to say it's pretty neat to see the one with the years.
ReplyDeleteThe red and white quilts just keep coming. I LOVE seeing them. I haven't seen a single one I didn't like. These are indeed beauties.
ReplyDeleteThe negative/positive blocks in the last one especially appeal to me--such a modern look.
Hi Sue, thank you for sharing your photos of the quilts. They are amazing I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing them. It must have been awsome to see them "in the flesh".
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, thanks for the close-up of the California Star (feathered star with 9 patch star centers). My sister has an antique one in blue and white and it is an uncommon pattern.
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous of your trip and getting to meet such nice quilting friends and see wonderful quilts but I'm glad that you had such a good time.
