Crib Quilts

Don't you just love these crib quilts. Pink for a girl and blue for a boy . I am going to have to get busy  making a crib quilt as soon  as  the new sewing room is set up. News is  I am going to be a grand-ma at the end of January.

We are all so excited about a new little person coming into our family It will certainly fill the void that is in my life. and I am so looking forward to going shopping!

I collected packing boxes today ,  I decided I wanted to pack up my  sewing paraphernalia myself.  I figured If I put it into the box I might just know what to expect to come out. Any way I thought the removal men just wouldn't get IT packing yards and yards of fabric. I don't want them to know I have a habit. LOL.

  2. Congratulations! Baby quilts are so much fun to make...

When I moved from the UK I tried to pack as much of my sewing room as possible...what I didn't pack ended being used as packing material...it was a mess!

  3. Congratulations - I was a January baby so remember to give your grandchild a present for Christmas and one for a birthday - it's important!

Great excuse for a crib quilt - not that you need one! The blue one is adorable!

  4. Glad the scan went ok and you can now come clean. I am so excited for you. I wonder which quilt you will do. At least you have an incentive to get it all unpacked again in your new home. Of course the baby is going to need several quilts - one for his/her cot at home and one for grandma's. You are going to be very busy.

  5. I love those two quilts. I actually know their owner (Phyllis) and saw them at a talk she did at the Maryland Historical Society last January. I took pictures of both and they are at the top of my quilt dream list.

The crib quilts were a treat to see. I just love small quilts, and they are fun to display, too.
Vicki and I took a fabric dating workshop from Phyllis Twig about 7 years ago. She must have quite the collection.
Haven't commented lately, but I've been here! Had trouble getting my comments to post.

I could only imagine the joy a grandchild would bring to my heart, and our granddaughter has brought many times that amount. Enjoy, enjoy!

  20. I was making some of the basket blocks like are shown in the blue & white quilt. I was experiencing a problem in the final steps of sewing the block together. I need to step back and figure out what is wrong but can't find any kind of wrong measurement. I like the quilt you show oh so well.
